Bippy's Beat |
This page is the private property of Grand Champion Axima's Bi-Product
of Silverlock, who was bred by Barbara Azan (Azima cattery), birthed and
raised by Margaret and Jessica Shortlidge (Gildethros cattery) and now believes
he is in charge of B. Iris Tanner's Silverlock Cattery. No hissing
allowed. No girls allowed either unless they are ripe and ready for the
pickin', if you know what I mean.

The Genesis of BippyWhen B. Iris Tanner was searching for a name for her new silver tabby and white Turkish Angora, she began flipping through the pages of the dictionary. Of course, any name chosen had to come hand-in-hand with a silly call name; this is a given with all her cats. The word "byproduct" jumped out at her. Hmmm. The spelling would have to change, to reflect the cat fancy term "bicolor" which refers to any color in combination with white. Easily done. But what about the silly call name? She and the cat's breeder had some good laughs about "BP" -- "people will think it stands for British Petroleum" or "Duct" and using duct tape to decorate the cat's cage -- "After all, it is silver like him. . ." and then inspiration struck. A blast from the past, from the days of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" and Azima's Bi-Product of Silverlock, a.k.a "Bippy" was officially christened.
Bippy has done his best to live up to the long-ago outrageous spirit of that show. You can picture him lurking behind a fern, lying in wait for unsuspecting victims. But he doesn't say "Verrry interesting." He just bursts out into everything, kissing, purring, and making happy feet all at the same time. He has transmitted several feline words of wisdom to his owner/slave. They are presented here for your edification and enjoyment. |
